"A teacher's purpose is not to create students in her own image, but to develop students who can create their own image."
I am very excited to have the opportunity to start from the beginning stages of St. Thomas Academy. I have a number of exciting as well as educational ideas that the children will love! I have created an environment for children to develop a love for God through instruction in the Catholic Faith. Within the preschools daily schedule, children will have the opportunity to create and explore the environment surrounding them. I want to show the young and curious learners that everything we experience and everyone we come in contact with is a gift from God.
In my life, the power of God's presence has helped me accomplish all of the goals I have gone after. From cycling around Maui to running the Portland marathon twice, to helping me be the mother and wife that I am proud to look in the mirror every morning.
After I graduated from Redmond High 10 years ago, I decided that Corvallis sounded like a fun place to live and go to school. I attended OSU in early elementary education. My husband, Brian and I choose to stay and make Corvallis our home. We began to raise our three beautiful daughters, Chloe, 8, Saylor, 6 & Lilly, 4. We recently moved back to raise our growing family in Redmond. While in Corvallis I worked at various private schools teaching preschool and as an inclusion assistant with ESD. When I am not working or coaching soccer, my family and I enjoy spending time at our cabin on Lake Billy Chinook and watching the Beavers play Football. We are definitely an outdoor family! We also enjoy traveling to places like Disneyland and Maui, and touring the Pacific Northwest Lighthouses. Although we are definitely always on the go, I am never far from reading a book!
