Mrs. Jacobsen

I was born and raised in Brogan, a small town in Eastern Oregon.  I attended a two-classroom schoolhouse. One room contained first through fourth grades, and the other contained fifth through eighth grades.  I think small schools are great places to be educated.  Consequently, I am excited to have the opportunity to teach at St. Thomas Academy.  I am heartened by the enthusiasm and support for the school I have already witnessed by parents and other parishoners.

I have been married for over 26 years. My husband, Tom, is an electrical inspector.  We have two awesome sons, Ryan and Dustin.  Ryan just graduated from OSU and works for the Department of Fish and Wildlife.  Dustin works for Toyota of Bend and is in the Automotive Technology Program at COCC.

I received a Bachelors in Education from Western Oregon University.  I have taught for nine years, eight of which have been in Catholic schools.  I taught first grade for two years at O'Hara Catholic School in Eugene and the last six years I have taught fifth and then second grade at St. Francis School in Bend.

Teaching in a Catholic School is both a tremendous opportunity and an important responsibility.  I am committed to provide an environment where students learn and grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
