Adult Faith Development: Catholic Update Series given by Fr. Charles Nnabuife. This series of classes is for Catholics as well as non-Catholics. Classes will go from September to May and are held in the Side Vestibule at the church at 7 p.m. every Tuesday. If anyone is interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith through these classes, please phone the parish office @ 923-3390 for more information.

Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus
Fr. John O'Donovan Assembly. Dinner meetings on the 2nd Thursdays (September-June). 6 p.m. social hour, 7 p.m. dinner.

Council 3636, meet the second Monday each month in the Parish hall @ 7:00 p.m.

Fraternal Men's organization of faith and fellowship. All Catholic men in good standing within the church are eligible to join. Current membership is 120.

Associates of the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon: Share in the charism and mission of the Sisters of St. Mary as men and women without religious vows. Annual covenant renewal in the spring. This group meets 4-6 times annually for days of recollection and faith sharing of events of Christian service in daily life.

Religious Education Center

  • Classes for grades K-5 Wednesdays from 3:30-5:00 p.m (mid-summer through April). Classes begin September 14th.
  • Sacrament Classes (family sessions)
    First Mondays (Oct. - April) 6:30 p.m.
  • Noel Roy , Coordinator of Religious Education and Youth Ministry for grades 6-12, and Sacramental Preparation for Confirmation. Classes meet on Sunday from 6:00-7:30p.m. (mid-September through April) in the rectory next to the Parish Hall. Special Youth Group activities scheduled each month throughout the school year. St. Thomas Altar Society

All women of St. Thomas are automatically members of the Altar Society. Dues are $1.00 per year. A survey provided to the women helps the officers provide the opportunity for involvement in various functions of the Altar Society. Some activities include:

  • altar flowers & linens
  • funeral luncheons
  • donations & scholarships
  • rummage sale
  • parish picnic (co-sponsored w/ K. of C.)

The Altar Society provides a reception for those making their First Communion. The annual Altar Society Bazaar is our fund-raiser and is held the second week-end in November; open to the public. The bazaar features a raffle, a luncheon on Saturday, the Country Kitchen, Grandma's Attic and much more.

Meetings are held on the second Monday of every month @ 7 p.m. in the Parish hall. The September meeting starts off the year with a salad supper @ 6 p.m., inviting the Knights to participate. Officers are: President, Noel Roy; Vice President, Ann Hopkins; Secretary, Denise Donnelly and Treasurer, 
Shirley Carpenter.


St. Vincent dePaul Society:

The mission of the society is to provide social services to families and individuals in the Redmond community who are suffering and in need, without discrimination.

Services are by our social services department. The social services operation provides food baskets to those in need.

We need you!! If you wish to work in this important ministry, please call 923-5264, (Social Services) Wed., & Thurs., 2-4 p.m., located at 1114 SW Evergreen Ave., Redmond, OR.


Music:

St. Thomas Folk Group practice is on Friday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The instruments in this group include the keyboard, guitar, bass, string/violin and tambourine. This group plays for the 5:30 Mass on Saturday evenings. Those of you who are interested in singing or playing with this group, attendance at Friday practices is required. For all inquiries, please contact Terri Isom or Patsy Parrish.

St. Thomas Traditional Choir practice is on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The instruments in this group is mainly organ; however all instruments are welcome. This choir sings for the 10:00 Mass on Sunday mornings. Those of you who are interested in singing with this group, attendance at Tuesday practices is required. For all inquiries, please contact Terri Isom or Shirley Czerwonka.  

St. Thomas Resurrection Choir practice is always one hour prior to the designated time for the Funeral Mass. Anyone who is interested in joining this special choir must contact Terri Isom, Music Coordinator. For music and song arrangements on behalf of the family, please contact Shirley Czerwonka or Terri Isom.

Music for Weddings either with or without a choir or cantor should be arranged as soon as possible with Terri Isom or Patsy Parrish.

Special Note: Rehearsals for all Masses, Funerals, Weddings, and any other Special Occassions will begin one hour prior in the Brides Room next to the Office.

Social Outreach: A group of volunteers donate time to check on the sick, shut-ins and widows/widowers of St. Thomas, as well as people who are receiving foster care, are in assisted living programs, or in nursing homes. This group is modeled on the Be-Friending Program and many parishioners are part of the Interfaith Volunteer Caregivers group. The Social Outreach committee also sponsors the St. Thomas Feast Day dinner in July and the annual Star Lite Gala.

A group has also formed to welcome newcomers to the parish and provide a dinner for newcomers at the Parish Hall.
