Adult Bible Study - Winter 2012

Adult Bible Study Overview

See Bible Study: Part Two of Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom - beginning on March 6 and 7 below.

Adult Bible Study is offered to St. Thomas parishioners, family members, and friends, 18 and older.  We have participants from other parishes in the area, and many non-Catholics who attend regularly, too.
The purpose of Adult Bible Study is to enhance our understanding of the Bible and all things Catholic.  You don't have to be a bible expert to attend.  In fact, that's the reason we meet . . . to learn and understand what God has revealed through sacred scripture (Bible) and his Church.  Even if you've never opened your bible you'll find it easy to join in and you'll be amazed at how much you'll learn.
Here's a list of some of the topics we've covered in the last few years:
"A Quick Journey Through The Bible" - salvation history
"1 Corinthians - The Church & Christian Community"
"Psalms - the School of Prayer"
"A Biblical Walk Through the Mass"
     "Catholicism"
"Acts of the Apostles-Spread of the Kingdom Part 2" - our current study

Our studies follow the same format each week---a reading assignment and questions to answer at home, small group discussions on the study questions, and a lecture on DVD.
     How do I get started?
Studies are offered every Fall and Spring.  Registration is held prior to each session for three consecutive weekends after each Mass.  Listen for lector announcements and look for more specific information in the Church bulletin.
We meet on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 am - 11:30 am and Thursday evenings from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm.  Check the appropriate box when you register as to which session is best for your schedule.

SPRING SESSION 2013

Registration for Adult Bible Study will begin in the Spring.  Join fellow parishioners for this exciting study - "Acts of the Apostles-Spread of the Kingdom."  Share with the early Christians the joys and struggles of living the life of Christ, and learn how these apply to us today.  See the flyer for details.
